Take Part in Ram Comedy Festival 2025

We’re so excited to be bringing the Ram Comedy Festival back for 2025, and although we still have a while before our festival takes place, we’ll try and lay out how to bring your show in our festival.

Applications & Registrations (and the difference between the two!)

Taking part in our festival is broken up into 2 parts, application & registration.

Application = Requesting a space with a festival venue/promoter
Registration = Providing us your full show details for print/box office and paying registration fees

Applications are open from today, but registrations will end on the 28th February 2025, at which point we will be submitting all the shows that have registered out to print for the physical brochure. Shows registered after this date will not feature in our printed brochure.

If you’re struggling to fill the information, or have any form of accessibility issues which makes either form challenging for you to complete, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected]!

You will find the link to the form to apply for a space at the bottom of this page (but we advice you to read the rest of this content first!)

Our Show Registration Fees

We’ve tried to price our festival fees to provide a value driven proposition for you, whilst also being enough to cover our costs. All our show spaces will be 1 hour long. Please see below fees.

Fee for Full Printed Listed Show (show must be submitted before 28th Feb)£30
Fee for Online Only Listed Show (shows submitted past the print deadline of 28th Feb)£20

Please note, all fees listed are per showing, promoters may add additional fees for their services & support.

What Your Registration Pays For & What You Get From It

The Ram Comedy Festival is an independent comedy festival, for us we’re not seeing the festival a huge money spinner for us organizing it. With that in mind, we want to be transparent on what the registration fees will be going towards and how we plan to use it to support your show and the festival as a whole.

  • Listing in our printed festival brochure that will distributed in all festival venues & other locations in the city (if submitted before 28th Feb)
  • Listing on our online box office & ticketsource
  • Social Media Promotion & Marketing of the Ram Comedy Festival
  • Performer Lanyards (available from our festival hub at The Old Bell)
  • Ram Comedy Festival Posters & Flyers (you will need to provide your own show specific posters!)

What to do after Registering your Show

After your show registration has been submitted to us, congratulations, you’re going to be a part of our wonderful festival! However the work isn’t done there, it’s now time to help us promote your show. Your show will be added to the online box office within a few days, once it’s on we encourage you get on your socials and come up with creative ways to sell tickets! We’ll do everything we can to shout up about the shows we’re featuring, but the more everyone pitches to collectively selling their shows and the broader festival, the more successful it stands to be for everyone involved.

You’ll also want to design a poster for the festival, we highly recommend that if graphic design isn’t your bag then get someone else to help. There’s lots of reasonably priced designers who do a wonderful job making top quality posters. Get your posters designed & printed and arrange with your promoter when is best to place them in our festival venues.

We understand that flyers are a common staple of how shows can be promoted, however it’s important to recognize the environmental impact of masses of flyers being produced. We do not allow (nor do we have permission) for street flyering, we do however invite you to exit flyer other shows inside our festival venues. Please considering asking others before exit flyering their shows.

Ticket Sales & Finances

When registering your show with us you can choose whether it’ll be a ticketed event, or if you will be operating a Pay What You Like model, the choice of which is completely up to you but if you’re not sure which to go for then have a conversation with your promoter or get in touch with us.

Pay What You Like

If you opt for Pay What You Like, then simply input your ticket price as 0 when you register your show with us. On the day of your show the ownership will be on you to take voluntary payments from your audience after the show (usually best to do this at the exit point of the room to funnel people past you). What you take is completely yours, but we would recommend on preparing to take card payments as most people don’t carry cash with them. This can be done from most smartphones with the correct app, do your research beforehand.

Ticketed

If you run a ticketed event, you will need to set your desired ticket price when you register your show with us. Our box office will be showcased on our website, but the tickets will be sold through TicketSource. Although we will take none of your box office takings, 6-7% of the total ticket revenue will be absorbed by TicketSource & Stripes processing fees.

TicketSource payment processing costs (when connected to a Stripe account) = 4.5% +VAT > https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/pricing

Stripe payment processing costs = 20p + 1.5%-2.5% (depending on the card used) +VAT > https://stripe.com/gb/pricing

Once these fees have been deducted what is remaining will be sent to you via bank transfer within 2 weeks of the festival ending, this will mean all monies will have been received by Mon 23rd June 2025.
